Professional Development
Related Activities
We arrange diversified professional development activities to help teachers devise appropriate pedagogical strategies and apply different teaching modes in a small class teaching environment to enhance the effectiveness of learning and teaching. These activities include:
In-service training courses for teachers |
| |
We have invited different tertiary education institutions to conduct in-service training courses for teachers covering such modes as school-based practice and school-based support etc as far as possible so as to cope with the needs of teachers. Schools can arrange supply teachers to substitute teachers on training courses under the prevailing practices.
Support Network |
| |
We select experienced front-line teachers serving different primary schools to support their partner schools. Under our professional support, each selected teacher provides his/her partner schools with regular professional support, experience and resource sharing on difference subjects and learning areas.
Learning Circles |
| |
Learning Circles are formed by Chinese, English and Mathematics teachers practising small class teaching. Through workshops, small group studies and observation of other teachers' lessons, teachers teaching the same subjects in different schools share their teaching experiences and exchange views. Then, they share with teachers in their schools about what they have acquired from the learning circles through such activities as collaborative lesson preparation and peer lesson observation so as to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning.

Seminars and Workshops |

We organize thematic seminars and workshops to facilitate teachers in maximizing the small class environment to further enhance classroom teaching and learning effectiveness. |
